Networking, within the mobile home park and RV park industry, has been the key to many people's business model, while others may choose to remain more private. For those users that utilize networking with others in the industry, MHParks.com has created our Contacts module just for you. In this article you will learn the basics of Contacts and how to opt-in to sharing your contact information with other users.

Overview 

The Contacts module in MHParks.com allows users to view the Personal information, Company Information, and any parks they may have claimed in My Parks of members that have chosen to share it. Members that wish to share their information, in the Contacts module, are required to check the option Make My Profile Public, from within their profile settings. By default, when a user first signs up as a member of MHParks.com, this option is unchecked which prevents your information from displaying in the Contacts module. Once members have opted into making their profile public, they will be displayed in the Contacts module as Member Contact Type. 

Within the Contacts module, the details of a Member can be viewed by clicking the Member value in the Contact Type field. When the contact has a Contact Type of Member, the information the member has supplied from within their profile along with any list of parks they may have claimed in My Parks is displayed on the Personal Information, Company Information, and Claimed Parks tabs as 'read-only'.  Users can add personal notes to each member's Personal Notes tab at any time. Personal notes about a member will remain private to the user that entered them. 

When a user has a contact that is not a member of MHParks.com, they can save their contact's information to the list by clicking the + Add New Contact button, located in the top right of the Contacts page. Each contact supplied by a user can be quickly identified by having a Contact Type of Personal.  Personal contacts remain private to the user that has added the contact to their list. Each Personal contact is editable, at any time, while viewing the contact's detailed information on the Personal Information, Company Information, or Personal Notes tabs. Personal contacts will not display the Claimed Parks tab since the contact must be a member of MHParks.com to claim a park in My Parks.  


Note - Personal contacts will not display the Claimed Parks tab while viewing the contact's information. 
Note - To avoid duplicate contacts, each contact's email address must be unique when saving a new Personal contact.  
Important - Members will only be added to the Contacts module's list after they check the option Make My Profile Public in their profile settings.
